We’re thrilled to announce an amazing partnership between District 186 and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, making it possible for all of our 4th grade students to Level Up their learning with an unforgettable field trip this year! Click Here for Photos
In the Land of Lincoln, we’re surrounded by rich history—and what better way to bring learning to life than a hands-on, immersive experience at this world-class museum?
Today, Superintendent Jennifer Gill joined students from Iles School and Butler Elementary during their visit. The students were buzzing with curiosity about "Honest Abe," asking thoughtful questions and soaking in the incredible exhibits.
This week was even more special—one of the five original copies of the Gettysburg Address is on display! Can you imagine the wow factor for our students. It will be on display for a few more days through November 24!!
Why Field Trips Matter:
They provide meaningful, real-world connections to what students learn in the classroom. They inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. They create lasting memories and foster a love for learning.
A huge THANK YOU to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum for being such a fantastic community partner. Partnerships like these enrich our students’ lives and make Springfield an incredible place to learn and grow.
