Parent-Teacher Conferences are Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. There will be No School on Friday. Please make sure your parents have received information about Parent-Teacher Conferences.

 Book Fair

The Book Fair will open today. Your teachers should have chosen a time for you to go to the Book Fair and browse. The Book Fair is open until Friday at 3:30 p.m.

 Attendance

We need your help. One of our grades on our State Report Card is attendance. We did not do well in this area last year, so we need to increase our grade. You can help us increase that grade by coming here every day (unless you are sick with something contagious.)

We will have a few celebrations around attendance. First if you are present for the entire school week, you will receive some form of recognition at the end of the week. Typically this is our Popcorn Friday, but we will offer other treats as well.

Any student who has not missed more than two days and has no office discipline referrals starting October 5th through the end of this marking period, which is November 9th, will be eligible to attend our Attendance/Behavior Field Trip.

 Weather

Temp: Today's high is expected to be 63 degrees and partly cloudy. Today will be an outdoor recess.

 Lunch

Nachos w/ Meat & Cheese
Ham and Cheese Snack Pack
Mexican Style Black Beans
Salsa
Chilled Pears

BBSS Goal

This month, we are focusing on Responsibility through  Persistence – especially on the classroom through the setting of goals.

You will receive your referral-free treat this afternoon.

We have gone 4 days with no referrals. Two more days for referral-free.

 Social Emotional Message/Goal

 SEL Message (Read on Mondays)

Setting goals when you’re learning and getting better at the things that matter to you is important. Goals help you focus. When you set goals, make sure they’re specific, challenging, and doable. A specific goal helps you measure your progress and know when you’ve reached it. When the goals you set are challenging, but you’re still able to do them, you can see that you’re growing and making progress. Also, make sure your goals are about things you’re interested in so you can stay motivated. If you keep working towards your goals, you’ll see improvements before you know it!

I can make good decisions by following directions the first time!

This year, we will add Qualities of Good Character and Behavior. This year, I will be observing you on some of these qualities in classrooms. This week, We are focusing on

 Being a Persistent Learner.

This means we will see you…

 ·      Setting goals

·      Engage in your class

·      Keep trying when something gets hard.

·      Create a plan before asking your teacher,

·      Ask clarifying questions

·      Say kind words when you make a mistake

·      Encourage another student who has made a mistake by using kind words.
