6th Grade Boys Basketball Tryouts will take place Monday 9/9 and Tuesday 9/10 from 2:30 to 4:00. Students must have gym shoes to participate!

Please do not forget to come meet your student's teachers and check out the 20+ community partners that will be joining us at our first ever Back to School Bash! We will start at 4pm with teachers in rooms from 5-6pm and will end the evening at 7pm. Please come and enjoy food and fun for the whole family! Attention GMS Baseball and Softball families. Tonights games on 8/27 have been cancelled due to the extreme heat!
Good Evening GMS Families. Please know that admin is cautiously watching the temperatures for student safety if/when going outside. Students are encouraged to being CLEAR water bottles with only WATER in them. If students bring water bottles that are not CLEAR, they will be asked to keep them in their locker.
Semester 1 students will start dressing out for PE starting tomorrow, Monday, August 26. Athletic shirt, shorts, socks, and shoes. Shorts have to be at least a 5 inch inseam and no spandex or yoga pants. If you would like to purchase a PE uniform, shirts and shorts are available for $10 each ($20 for both).
Pom's tryouts will start with clinics on Monday 8/26 and Tuesday 8/27 with official tryouts on Wednesday 8/28!!! You must be able to attend all 3 day to learn the dance and tryout.
Calling all 6th grade girls!! Basketball tryouts are Monday and Tuesday from 4:15-6pm at GMS. No experience needed! If you are not staying for Boys and Girls Club, you will need to go home and then come back.

Today, around 2:30 p.m., Springfield Police responded to a disturbance near the 500 block of Douglas, an area frequented by some of our student walkers. As a precaution, we temporarily held students who typically walk in that direction during dismissal. Once we received the all-clear from Springfield Police, those students were released. The safety of our students is our highest priority and we value open communication with our families.
