We want to remind you that we are fast approaching the deadline for students to have their physical and immunization information turned in per state guidelines. Please make sure that you have contacted your school’s nurse with your child’s upcoming physical/immunization appointment or that you have turned in your physical and immunization paperwork this week. Students failing to provide required health information will be excluded from school starting October 1st.

We have a group of students in our GMS Jazz Masters club who will be marching with the high school band this Friday, September 15 during the pregame show!!! Come check out these fantastic musicians!!!! Pregame starts at 6:30 but you won't want to miss them so come early! Sophia W, Ella S, Sarah L, Violet P, and Abdelfatah A!!!

The final round of tryouts will be help tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13 from 1:30-4 in the gym!

Tryouts will be held on Monday, Sept. 11 after school from 2:45-4. Please bring clothes to change into and a water bottle. If students are normally a bus rider they may ride the activity bus home at 4:15 or parents may pick up by 4:15.

This is a reminder that 8th grade girls basketball tryouts will be TOMORROW (Thursday) at Grant Middle School from 6-8pm.

This is just a friendly reminder that 7th grade Girls Basketball tryouts are tonight from 6-8pm at Grant Middle School.

Girls basketball season is just around the corner! Open gym for all girls interested will be tomorrow, Friday, August 25 from 4:15-6 and Saturday, August 29 from 10am-12pm at Grant Middle School. Tryouts will be: 6th- Tuesday 8/29 from 6-8pm 7th- Wednesday 8/30 from 6-8pm 8th- Thursday 8/31 from 6-8pm These will be at Grant Middle School. Students only! Please bring water bottles and be ready to work!

The Softball game has been cancelled for this evening. The baseball game vs. LMS has been cancelled for this evening. Boys will meet in the gym from 4-6pm today.

Good Evening Generals, School starts on Monday, August 21st. The doors will open at 7:30 a.m. for students to come into the building to have breakfast. Returning students need to bring their computer bags with them. Schedules and lockers will be given to students in the morning on the first day of school. We are excited to start the new school year and look forward to seeing YOU!

This is just a friendly reminder that we no longer have a uniform. However, we will abide by the district's dress code. For clarification, please check the district/school websites (student handbook).

The first practices: Monday and Wednesday, August 14 & August 16. Meet behind the school with running shoes and clothes. 9-10 am. Get a sports physical and turn it into the school ASAP. XC is open to any 6, 7, or 8th grade student at Grant Middle School. Middle school xc courses are 2 miles. Girls and boys races are held separately; all runners of the same gender, regardless of grades, compete together. All participants must have a current physical on file, athletic card, and pay the $60 athletic fee. Each athlete should wear running shoes to all practices and meets. Bring water bottles to practices and meets. CHECK THE PRACTICE SCHEDULE FOR ALL PRACTICE AND MEET TIMES AND LOCATIONS. THE SCHEDULE IS LOCATED ON THE SCHOOL WEBSITE.

GMS Cheer Clinics will be Aug. 9th-10th from 3-5:30/Try-Outs will be Aug. 11th 3-6:30. At Grant Middle School. Please be on time and ready. Each day is mandatory. If you miss a day, you will be disqualified to try-outs. The applications will be in the secretaries offices on Monday. You are welcome to hand them back in at the school or bring them to Clinics. No one will be allowed to enter try-outs with out this application. Good luck to each candidate trying out.
