GMS Drop-off procedure

We are implementing a new drop-off procedure for our car riders and walkers this year. Please review the details below carefully, as this change is new for our Generals! We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to ensure a safe and secure drop-off experience for everyone.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Car Riders (Please see the map)

All car riders will need to enter the west parking lot near 1900 building off of Monroe, vehicles will follow the traffic pattern in the parking lot to make a loop and drop students off in the east corner of the lot. There will be administrators outside to help get our families acclimated to the new morning procedures.

Families will drop off their students and then proceed around the loop and out of the parking lot back to Monroe. We are encouraging families to turn right out of the parking lot to help with the continuous flow of traffic and to ease the morning congestion.

Once students exit the car they will follow the sidewalk path into Grant Middle School for their school day.

Walkers (Please see the map)

All students that will be walking to school can take either of these two paths to get to the Grant Middle School entrance.

Path 1

Students can cross with the crossing guard at Stange and then proceed to walk down the sidewalk of Stange Ave. Students will follow the concrete sidewalk behind Grant Middle School until they reach the designated entrance into Grant Middle School for their school day.

Path 2

Students can walk down the breezeway sidewalk in between Grant Middle School and the 1900 W. Monroe Building and follow the concrete sidewalk path behind Grant Middle School until they reach the designated entrance into Grant Middle School for their day.

Students that arrive late after the start of school will need to use the visitor entrance off of Monroe Street.
