Each year Feitshans Elementary has a Read-In where volunteers come and read to our students. Over the years, Mr. Melvin D. "STONE " Jordan has always been one of our readers. Mr. Jordan had a tremendous passion for education and love for young people.
In preparation for our Black History Month Read-In , Principal Boozer and Feitshans Elementary would like to name our Annual Black History Month Read-In after Mr. Melvin D. "STONE" Jordan. His love for education and impact on many lives in the community through literacy was unmatched and will never be forgotten.
We are honored to present the M.J. STONE Read-In, as well as the M.J. STONE Scholar of the year.
In his honor, Principal Boozer and the staff presented his wife and retired educator, Mrs. Martha Jordan a plaque to commemorate this momentous occasion.
