Good Morning Ball Charter! Today is March 8th, 2023
All students should be on step 450 for our school-wide reading step target.
OFF TO A GREAT START
Good morning. Today, we start the 2nd week of fundraising for LLS through Light The Night. The donations we collect will help kids with cancer. As of this morning, we have raised $ 215. We are so very proud of everyoneās efforts so far! Remember, work with your parents to ask for donations through email and on social media. You can even write a letter to your friends and family sharing why helping kids with cancer is important to you.
Friday, March 10th will be PJ day for $1. All proceeds will go toward our fundraising goal. (Teachers please put the money from your class in an envelope and place it in Mrs. Tan's mailbox.)
Next week we will be having Penny Wars. A flier is going home in today's Wednesday folder to explain how Penny Wars works. Outside the library at the tables you will find a decorated jug for your homeroom teacher before school. Positive Points:
penny = 1 pt,
$1 bill = 100 pts
$5 bill= 500 pts
$10= 1,000 pts
BUT, classes can sabotage each other and try to deduct points by dropping any silver coins in other classes' jugs. Negative Points:
nickel= -5 pts
dime= -10 pts
quarter= -25 pts.
Bring your coins starting on Monday.
Today's LLS Ball Charter Kindness Challenge is to say "hi" to someone who you don't know.
Today's Wild Word Wednesday fact is: Dark matter cannot be detected by scientists, they know it exists because of the pull of gravity.
Interested in trying out for Southeast Cheerleading? Please pick up the informational packet in the main office. Tryouts will begin March 29th.
The leader for the highest percentage of logins resulting in a green light is 3rd grade with 72%. Who is going to bump 3rd grade outta the top spot? Keep getting those green lights and if could be your grade level next week in the lead.
Congratulations to Timothy N. for mastering all of his addition and subtraction facts. So proud of you!
Marchās Green Light Challenge has begun! March is a longer month, the goal of 3 green lights per week remains, but for March there will be a total of 12 green lights for the month. Looking forward to seeing the challenge winnerās list grow! February had 155 students make the goal, will March beat that!?
Big shout out to Mrs. Thompsonās class. All 21 students made their Green Light Challenge goal for February! This is the second time this year. How cool would it be if all of your class made their goal this month!? Who is up for the challenge?
A google form has been emailed to all 8th grade parents for the Southeast High School Health and Science Academy. The application deadline has been extended to March 17th.
