UNITY DAY = MASSIVE SUCCESS!
Today was all about positivity, connection, and community as over 100 students came together for the annual Unity Day!
Hosted by the Superintendent’s Roundtable and sponsored by theSpringfield Public Schools Foundation, this event brought students from all three District 186 high schools together for a day of learning, collaboration, and fun.
The room was buzzing with good vibes as students played games, worked together, and made new connections with peers from across the district. They also got to hear from two amazing local organizations, Soap for Hope and the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery, gaining insight into the incredible work they do to uplift our community.
The students even put together scensory bins & painted rocks for the Crisis Nursery!
But Unity Day didn’t stop at inspiration—it’s all about action! Students will be walking through the crowd at tonight’s City Tournament games with donation buckets to raise money for these two charities. Let’s show them our support and make a big impact!
Prizes added to the excitement, with some students even winning tickets to tonight’s games. The energy in the room was unmatched, and the spirit of unity and collaboration was felt by all.
Superintendent Gill couldn’t be prouder of the students for embracing the day with open hearts and for their commitment to creating a stronger, more connected community. A huge shoutout to the Springfield Public Schools Foundation for making it all possible!
Let’s carry this amazing energy into tonight’s City Tournament games—don’t miss out!
