nurses at nasn conference

We are excited to share that a few of our dedicated school nurses recently attended the National Association of School Nurse (NASN) conference in Chicago, IL. Mallory Henton from Butler Elementary, Amy Peifer from ELC, and Colleen Hulligan from Graham/Southern View had the incredible opportunity to network with fellow school nurses from across the country and attend numerous educational sessions that

contributed to their professional growth.

The conference theme, “Stronger Together,” emphasized the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our nurses gained valuable insights on topics such as data collection and usage, Medicaid reimbursement, safe nursing practices, enhancing nursing documentation, fostering hopefulness in schools, mental health care, and trauma-informed care.

Professional development is crucial for our school nurses as it ensures they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to provide the best care for our students. Our school nurses play an essential role in our community and culture at District 186, promoting a healthy and safe environment for all.
