Jane Adams Elementary had the honor of hosting a special visit from Nia the Author - Nia Obotette, an inspiring children's book author.
🚴🏿♀️🏊🏾♀️🏅🏃🏾♀️Nia's books emphasize the importance of sports, fitness, and adventure, reflecting the diversity of our society. She identified a lack of minority representation in children's literature and decided to create a series to address this gap.📖📚📒
During her visit, Nia read her story "I Am a Triathlete" and shared her inspiration behind the book, as well as her passion for being a triathlete. She engaged with the students, answering their questions with enthusiasm.📖📚📒
It was a wonderful event, and we were thrilled to meet a real author in person! Each student in the Jane Addams Girls on the Run program received a signed copy of Nia Obotette's book, making the experience even more memorable.
