Today we surprised Alicia Miller, Assistant Principal at Lanphier High School with the Horace Mann & District 186 Administrator of the year award.
She was presented with a check for 500 dollars and a crystal award by Horace Mann. Ms. Miller received the surprise news as her family, sorority sisters and friends joined LHS administration, staff and students in an assembly in the commons.
The Administrator of the Year finalists were Jim Hayes III (Harvard Park Elementary) and Patricia Nikson (Fairview Elementary School). Each will receive a check for $250 from Horace Mann.
Each of the winners, finalists and their guests will gather and celebrate at a reception tomorrow night at Horace Mann.
Horace Mann has sponsored the Educator of the Year program since its inception in 1988. An independent panel of Springfield-area community and education leaders selects the Educator of the Year, Administrator of the Year, and the Rising Stars.
