Greetings JMS Families!

My name is Mrs. Denise Perry, and I am your new Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) Liaison at Jefferson Middle School. This is my very first year as an employee of District 186, although I have been a 186 parent since 2008.

I feel a Family and Community Engagement Liaison should be someone who is hardworking, passionate, and dedicated to helping students build their legacy in school and at home. Furthermore, I want to be able to assist in building a positive connection with parents and help families discover learning opportunities throughout their school and community.

As a Family and Community Engagement Liaison, I will implement our four (4) Family Engagement Principles, which are:

1. Deepening the F.A.C.E. system

2. Building a welcoming and supportive environment for all

3. Enhancing two-way communication at all levels

4. Empowering families parents in decision-making

In addition to the academic needs of our JMS students, I will connect families to additional resources for other concerns that may impact student achievements.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free at your convenience to contact me. My contact phone number is (217) 585-5810 x 162 or email me at dperry@sps186.org. My office hours are 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Let’s grow together and make a difference in our children’s lives!

Title I Compact & Policy

Each Title I school shall develop, with parents, a school-parent compact that outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement while building partnerships to help children achieve high standards.

If you have not received and signed a compact here at Jefferson, please contact the main office.
